What does it mean to be on leased land. Who pays the taxes? How long is the lease from the time of purchase? I live on Mercer Island and I’m selling several properties and would like to still have a footprint in Washington waterfrot.thanks

You don’t own the land. The swinomish tribe lease expires in @18 years. Negotiations are ongoing but if nothing is settled then they can reclaim their land and you would own a house that you can’t sell. That’s why the prices are so cheap…..but the value declines every year closer to the lease term ending.
